Shoreditch Rooms

Project Overview

We were appointed by Soho House to work with them on the conversion and extension of a former public house to create a boutique hotel to complement the existing neighbouring Shoreditch House members club. The historic façade of the building was retained masking the construction of a new building behind extending from basement to 5th floor.

Three of the new floors form a visible extension at the principle corner of the site which is clad in Cor-Ten steel, providing a dramatic contrast with the façade below. The stepped design and deep slot windows provided space for terraces for the upper suites whilst preserving views.

This development was the third discrete project our team advised on within the Shoreditch House/Tea Building development. The project was a finalist in the RIBA London Awards and was also shortlisted by Wallpaper Magazine in its Best Business Hotel category.
