We recently completed work for our repeat Client on the major refurbishment of their boutique 34 key serviced apartment hotel near Sloane Square, bringing it up to 5 star standards. The project, which employed high quality finishes throughout, included the reconfiguration and upgrade of space to create modern and open plan studio, 1 bed and 2 bed apartments along with the full replacement of all mechanical and electrical service.
The building presented numerous challenges for the project team. Existing low ceiling heights meant that detailed design and on-site coordination of services was required to minimise ceiling voids and ensure a clear 2.3m head height. A restaurant at basement level remained fully operational throughout the construction works, and therefore services to the roof need to be protected and safe access maintained.
During the pre-contract period our cost consultants collaborated closely with the interior design team and architect to ensure the Client’s budget aspirations were achieved. Working within the parameters of the main structure to reduce cost, their input included working with the team to develop finishes that were good value, durable, and in keeping with luxury hotel standards.
Following the re-opening launch, Phoenix House was reviewed by Luxury Lifestyle Magazine who noted that “each apartment exudes a sense of grandeur, but with a modern twist”.
