Project Overview

Avantgarde, constructed in 2014, is a 25 storey residential tower and podium in Shoreditch comprising 257 apartments within the tower and retail/office accommodation within the podium building.

We were initially appointed to manage the replacement of existing Ecodek boarding to external balconies following changes to fire safety standards. Subsequently we were asked to support the Client in successfully securing Government funding for the investigation and repair of the fire protection detailing of the façade cladding system to extensive areas of the external envelope.

The balcony remediation work has now been completed and works to the façade cladding system are currently underway and due to be complete at the end of this year. The building has remained fully occupied throughout the works and a key part of our role has been to agree and manage the phasing of the works with the client and contractor to minimise disruption to occupiers and the ongoing tenant liaison role
