Vista House

Project Overview

Vista House was built originally as a 7 storey concrete framed office building with a central core feeding various wings, all sitting over covered parking. The building was subsequently converted into 71 one and two bedroom apartments. As Vista House is 18m high (to finished floor level of the top occupied floor) it’s classed as a relevant building under the Building Regulations.

During the office to residential conversion the predominantly brickwork façades were overclad with a mixture of rainscreen cladding, terracotta tiles and a brick slip system. A preliminary investigation identified areas where the materials, systems used and detailing in these new façades were likely to require significant remediation. The Client therefore secured initial support from the Building Safety Fund for further investigation and development works and appointed us to help them swiftly bring the building up to the required standards. We’re currently in the process of appointing experts to assist with this detailed investigation so that the architect can then develop the full specification and remedial work can commence.

As the building will remain occupied during any works we’re also liaising with residents to minimise disruption.
