Private Residence, Oxfordshire

Project Overview

Set deep in the Oxfordshire countryside this new super prime family house sits within a 20 acre site designated as ancient woodland. The design uses stone as the primary structural material reducing the embodied carbon impact of the project.

The house has direct access via a circular staircase and lift to a subterranean pool and spa complex and in the grounds an annexe, cabin and woodland pavilion will be built. Extensive landscaping works will link the buildings and maximise the impact of the long distance views from around the estate. Additionally 4 lakes will be constructed together with a vegetable garden, orchard and tennis court.

The client and project team have taken great care to develop a design that protects the site and also a construction management methodology that responds positively to the ancient woodland in which the buildings sit.
