The Challenge
32 Walpole Street is a very constrained, tall-but-narrow mid-terraced property, and this caused the main challenges in terms of delivering a significant programme of refurbishment and remodelling works across the five floors. Restricted access and limited working space required careful planning of site logistics, including the sequencing of deliveries and works. Close proximity to neighbouring properties also necessitated proactive management of noise and dust, supported by a clear communication plan to keep neighbours informed of the nature and timing of the works. This made it even more paramount that our Party Wall Surveyor ensured good neighbourly relations were maintained throughout the awards process.
The Outcome
The completed project successfully delivered the very high-quality, clean and minimalist remodelled spaces envisioned by the Client at the outset. A significant amount of bespoke joinery was incorporated throughout, fabricated and installed to an exceptional standard. Externally, the introduction of new windows together with the repair and redecoration of the façade has revitalised the building and restored its presence within the terrace.
