Mackerye End

Project Overview

The project entailed the full internal and external refurbishment of an existing Grade II Listed rural Manor House to provide a contemporary family home which remains sympathetic to the building’s original historic features.

External works greatly enhanced the roof, windows, walls and entrance to the property. Internally all rooms were re-finished to an exceptionally high quality, with bespoke joinery, new fireplaces and timber floors throughout. The existing basement area was converted into a modern wine cellar.

In addition to the main Manor House a number of semi-derelict barns dotted around the estate were converted into habitable leisure and entertainment spaces. These renovated barns between them now house a cinema room, a sports-barn which includes a basketball court, a party-barn with bar/ social space, a car barn which houses the client’s extensive car collection and a separate fully equipped gym and indoor swimming pool with changing facilities. Outside the existing outdoor pool was refurbished and extended, and the extensive gardens were completed remodelled using a combination of new hard and soft landscaping.
