Fitzroy Square

Project Overview

We are currently working on the extensive remodelling and extension of a 5 storey Grade I Listed townhouse in Fitzroy Square for a private client to provide them with a 12,000 ft² family home.

An existing separate mews building at the rear of the property was demolished and replaced with a new build extension, including large basement. The newly constructed areas now link to the historic building, which has been significantly upgraded and refurbished. Construction of the basement extension has involved the excavation of two new levels, which will house a swimming pool, sauna and service areas. The mews and basement extensions also include the family rooms, kitchen and new bedrooms.

The property will be finished to a very high standard and features a new bespoke stone staircase, high quality fitted joinery, stone finishes, and an intelligent integrated building control system including lighting, heating, AV and IT. The basement extension has been incredibly complex, requiring significant temporary works to support the listed building and neighbouring properties during construction. Access to the site for removal of excavated materials was also limited to the mews road at the rear of the property, providing additional logistical challenges.
