Spotlight Shines on Brighton Dome

The completed refurbishment of Brighton Dome has been featured heavily in the architectural press.

Two of the countries leading achitectural magazines, Architecture Today and the Architects’ Journal, recently published glowing reviews of the large-scale refurbishment of Brighton Dome Corn Exchange & Studio Theatre.

Architecture Today praises the way the ‘essential conservation work to the listed buildings [has] peeled back existing layers, restoring and revealing hidden spaces to the public.’

The Architects’ Journal piece focuses on the many positive impacts of the scheme, and the way meticulous attention to the historic fabric of the spaces was combined with modern interventions and sustainable design. This included responsibly sourcing construction materials wherever possible, including the 6,500m of European oak cladding from sustainable sources that now lines the Corn Exchange walls and dormer roof arches.
