Sumpter Yard crowned “Excellence in Heritage Design” winner

Our project at Sumpter Yard, which forms the walled garden of St Alban’s Cathedral & Abbey, has been crowned winner in the “Excellence in Heritage Design” category at the 2023 Landscape Institute Awards, with the judges praising the seamless integration between the new and old landscape.

Drawing on our experience of both heritage and contemporary projects we worked closely with the landscape architect to deliver a revitalised space where improved access and pathways complement a beautiful, welcoming garden. The project was fully funded by fundraising so achieving best value without compromising the brief was key. We’re delighted therefore that, despite financial constraints, the project has been so successful.
