Project Overview

Our repeat Client Temco appointed Jackson Coles as Project Manager, Cost Manager and Principal Designer for the refurbishment and extension of an existing tired 1980’s office building in Islington. The building sits on a very constrained site, offering limited opportunities to increase the nett lettable area. The building had originally been designed as a single occupancy space, with an open central staircase linking all 4 floors. This arrangement limited options for the creation of a more usual reception area at the entrance and division of the space into multiple tenancies.

The Client was keen to lift the image of the building both internally and externally, and the architect worked hard to take opportunities where available to increase floor areas and allow greater flexibility of use. The creative introduction of additional windows increased natural light within the space and dramatically improved the appeal of the finished office areas.

The budget for the works was limited but the project team worked well together to develop a range of options for the refurbishment.
