Mission Kitchen

Mission Kitchen is a new build 20,000 ft² flexible co-working space set up to provide professional kitchens, specialist equipment and other facilities to small independent food businesses. Located within the Food Exchange, New Covent Garden Market, Nine Elms, the space enables food related start-ups to prepare, package and distribute food products, as well as providing desk space and mentors to help them grow their businesses. Users can rent fully equipped shared workspaces or full kitchens on a part or full time basis, or have the option to rent a private kitchen space within the building. Event space and function rooms are also available for hire.

As this project was partly funded by The Greater London Authority under their enterprise scheme, balancing the budget constraints and the project scope was a major challenge. Our team dedicated a substantial amount of pre-contract time in liaising with the landlord – The Covent Garden Market Authority – and preparing options and iterations for their approval. The project was designed and procured to allow quick assembly which in turn allowed the Client-direct items to be installed and the kitchen to be operational.
