The Brief

This project created a new home for Conran and Partners following their relocation to Clerkenwell. The works comprised the CAT A and B fit out of 9,000 ft² over 2 floors from shell and core to provide new high quality studio space.

The brief for the new studio included bespoke metal staircases and balustrading, reeded glass glazed partitions, bespoke timber ceilings, wall panelling and joinery, AV systems, theatre/presentation space, WCs and a complete new mechanical and electrical installation.

The Challenge

A key challenge for the Client was to create a creative hub to attract talented professionals back into the studio post-pandemic. The office space therefore needed to reflect the culture and ethos of the client and enable their team to come together and collaborate.

Jackson Coles’ acted as advisor from the outset and our role extended to assisting the client with their negotiations with the landlord’s CAT A contribution and resolution of pre-existing base build defects.

 

 

The Outcome

The completed project is an imaginative reworking of 2 floors of workspace which are connected at each end by double-height spaces and crafted steel staircases. The overall design highlights the importance of a place of work that creates a sense of belonging and stimulates creative collaboration and a sense of teamwork.

The project was crowned the 2022 Mix Interiors “Workplace Project of the Year” in the >5-15,000 ft² category.
