The Challenge
The nature of the greenfield site presents significant design and logistical challenges, particularly in relation to infrastructure and drainage. The drainage for example requires the creation of a new lake along with the formation of a series of swales all designed to limit the environmental impact of rainwater run-off from the site into local water courses. Additionally substantial new energy infrastructure has been introduced to satisfy the demand of the campus.
We are working closely with the Client team to guide them through the complex procurement strategy and the inter-relationship of the over-lapping phases, managing negotiations with the Contractor, all set against the backdrop of the current inflationary challenges within the industry.
The Outcome
The project is currently on site and running to budget, testament in large part to the excellent collaborative approach of the entire project team and the Client.
Once completed a series of buildings forming the new home of the Gordon Murray Group will have been created to enable Gordon Murray Design, Automotive and Electronics to continue to be at the forefront of global car design, including production of their new limited edition T.50 and T.33 supercars.
