FORA Thames Tower

Project Overview

We were appointed to work with the Client and design team in delivering co-working office space over the ground, first and second floors of a recently refurbished building in the centre of Reading for the premium workspace provider FORA.

The CAT B fit out included the addition of a distinctive new red steel internal stair linking the ground and 1st floors, increasing accessibility to the meeting room and lounge spaces at ground floor. Two resident’s lounges and kitchens on the second floor offer views over the neighbouring square outside Reading Station and provide a collaborative breakout space. Improving the acoustic performance of the space was a key driver of the design and this brief was achieved using sound muffling fabric curtains from a Danish supplier and sound absorbing ceiling rafts.

Thames Tower was the Client’s first project outside of London. As a result subtle adjustments were made to the London brand specification to respond to the needs of the target market and to keep costs within the limits dictated by the rents achievable in the Reading office market, whilst at the same time keeping the design quality expected of a FORA building.
